WebPet “Sūnya” Play Guide
🔮 Basic Features
・Learning Your Name: When you first meet or click on Sūnya, they might ask for your name. Once you tell them, they will start addressing you by name.
・Soliloquy: If left alone, Sūnya will start mumbling to themselves on the screen using the words you’ve taught them.
・Wandering & Stalking: Sometimes, Sūnya goes for a stroll around the screen, twitching their large ears while exploring the site.
・Learning Words (Question Feature): When clicked, there is about a 20% chance Sūnya will ask a question like “What’s your favorite movie?” Your answers are stored in their memory, influencing their future soliloquies and conversations.
🧠 Memory
Your name and the words Sūnya learns are stored locally in your browser (LocalStorage).
・Stored Data: Your name, taught words, and the number of visits (Friendship Level).
・Memory Transfer: If you clear your browser cache or switch devices (e.g., from PC to smartphone), the memory will not be shared, and Sūnya will greet you as a stranger.
In that case, if you re-enter your registered name, Sūnya will ask about the words you taught before or when you last visited. Selecting “YES” will help them remember you.
・Friendship Level: Sūnya tracks the number of visits and words learned as a “Friendship Status.” Something special might happen as you become closer…
💻 PC Controls
・Drag & Drop: Click and hold with your mouse to move Sūnya anywhere you like.
・Click: Sūnya will greet you or ask questions about various content.
・Right-Click Menu: Right-clicking on Sūnya opens a special menu.
– Quiet Mode: Sūnya enters a 5-minute meditation and becomes silent.
– Talk to me: Ends meditation and resumes activity.
– Edit Nickname: Change how Sūnya addresses you.
– About WebPet: Takes you to this guide page.
📱 Mobile Controls
・Touch: Interact through greetings and questions.
– Double Tap: Quickly tap twice to send Sūnya back to their original position (Home Position).
– Stow Feature: If Sūnya’s wandering or talking gets in the way, you can “hide” them in the menu by long-pressing Sūnya or selecting “Hide WebPet” from the hamburger menu. Selecting “Show WebPet” will bring them back to the header.

⏳ Development Timeline
・Dec 23, 2025: The Search Begins. Started exploring the idea of a “WebPet” that lives on a personal site and shares time with visitors.
・Dec 24, 2025: Prototype Born. Created the first prototype using Google’s AI support software, “Antigravity.” While Antigravity initially suggested a dog (🐶) body, it was later changed to the current (👾) form. The foundations of Sūnya’s intelligence—wandering, talking, and questioning—were completed on this day.
・Dec 26, 2025: Design & Concept Finalized. Solidified the visual design and the concept of being born from “Unicode: U+0966 (०).” Created the floating GIF animation and implemented it into the site. Sūnya finally gained a physical body!
・Dec 28, 2025: Mobile Support & Expansion. Added a mobile-only feature to “stow” Sūnya into the hamburger menu for users who want to use the full screen.
・Jan 4, 2026: Added a “Reminisce” feature to recognize users even after clearing cache. Added Friendship Status—the more words you teach, the closer you become!
