I will be participating as a guest in a talk session for my alma mater’s exhibition: Tama Art University, Department of Information Design, Media Arts Course Graduation Exhibition “Me!”

📚 Talk Session
We are hosting a casual talk session where guest artists from the Media Arts field, students, and visitors gather on a single rug to exchange thoughts and ideas freely.
🗓️ Sunday, February 8th
Part 1: 14:00–14:30 | Part 2: 15:00–15:30
🎤 Guests
Ryotaro Sato | Video Artist
Born in Hokkaido, 1999. Completed Graduate School of Film and New Media, Tokyo University of the Arts.
Triggered by the pandemic, Sato focused on video expression. By quoting “assets”—character data circulating on the internet—he creates improvisational video works that re-examine identity within contemporary network society.
Representative Works: Interchange (2022), Outlet (2025)
Ryo Hirano | Animation Artist / Manga Artist
Born in Saitama, 1988. Graduated from Tama Art University, Department of Information Design.
Spanning diverse media—including animation, illustration, manga, and knitted “Amigurumi” sculptures—Hirano connects everyday motifs across multiple contexts. He unfolds a pop, deep, and bizarre narrative world that blurs the boundaries between nations and living creatures.
Representative Works: Paradise (2014), KRASUE (2022)
Shu Yonezawa | Artist / Animator
Born in Tokyo, 1999. Graduated from Tama Art University, Department of Information Design, Media Arts Course.
Starting from the “Obake” (smear) technique used in animation in-betweening, Yonezawa depicts the physicality that emerges within continuity and the presence of “souls that might have existed there” created through drawing, exploring resonance with the viewer’s subconscious.
Akihiko Taniguchi | Media Artist
Associate Professor, Tama Art University, Department of Information Design, Media Arts Course.
Taniguchi presents works across various fields, including media art, net art, game art, performance, video, and sculpture.
