Ryo Hirano
Animator, Comic Artist.
Born in 1988 in Kasukabe, Saitama, based in Fujimi, Nagano. Creates pop, deep, and bizarre works exploring the space between humans and non-human entities, incorporating elements of genre cinema such as sci-fi, horror, and fantasy.
The full-color comic series, “FANTASTIC WORLD Vol. 1 & 2,” is available from Leed Publishing. As an animator, original short films including “Paradise” (2014) and “KRASUE” (2022) have screened at numerous animation film festivals both in Japan and internationally. Also responsible for the “Mojamoja” segment on NHK’s “Miitsuketa!” and animated the music video for “Nyanko no Tetsugaku (A Cat’s Philosophy)” by Alliance de chat noir for NHK’s “Minna no Uta.”
Participated as an actor in the theater company Lolo’s performance “Hanarebanare Tachi.”
Currently attending a knitting class.
